A Dream
A journey to carry you through the night,
Pleasant sights seen when you sweetly slumber.
You’re a star on the stage shining bright,
Or you could be somewhere in sweet summer.
But you could always fall instead of rise,
Down to the depths of dark bitter despair.
Evil creatures play with their shiny prize,
Grabbing, pulling, and tugging without care.
Yet morning wakes and shadows fade away,
The grip of night releases its firm hold.
But whispers linger throughout the bright day;
Not every dream allows you to live bold
As you sleep tight tonight, will you awake
To the break of elegant dawn or dreary night.
