CAMPUS— The school’s new restaurant “The Swamp” is open for business. It operates from the end of school to 10pm.
OCT 6
ELECTIONS— Elections will be held in late November this year, sign ups will be available after the break. The COC’s announced a campaigning event today that will be held after DDay.
TESTS— The PSAT will be held at school on Wednesday, October 8th. All students are required to take the PSAT except seniors, who may take the SAT if they wish.
STUDGOV— The Mayor announced the informal library quiet service today. She said it will be made up of StudGov members and did not give further details of who will be in the force.
THEATER— Tech week is set to begin this Wednesday, as the countdown to the play continues.
BREAK— This weekend is fall break, and we do not have school on Friday or Monday.
OCT 3rd
STUDENTS— Jeremy Kalfus is offering a petition for seniors in opposition of “collective punishment”. He seems to be motivated by a desire to get senior lunch out approved, and to loosen regulations in the dorms.
TRAFFIC— Large traffic jam at the schools entrance today due to a new policy requiring the guard to open and close the gate for each car. The disruption caused multiple students to be late. It is unclear whether this policy will remain in the future.
OCT 2nd
STUDENT STORE— The Student Store has purchased a new white board to put updates from StudGov and other announcements. It will replace the menu board which is currently outdated. The proposal to buy it, which was approved unanimously, cost Student government $100. The Council Secretary, Rachel Yuan, will be charged with updating the board. The board is being put up this afternoon.
STUDGOV— The Mayor’s office has announced a plan to create an “informal” enforcement service dedicated to keeping the library quiet. They will only be able to remind people to be quiet, and they will not be writing records. The service will most likely consist of one or both COP’s, and Gracelyn, the Mayor’s sister and a Class Rep.
THEATER— The Fall play, Hamlet, is set to open on October 24th. There will be shows on the 24th the 25th and the 26th.
