Science is always changing, and so do the classes and extracurriculars.
On the academic side, two new electives are making their debut. Women in Science highlights the groundbreaking work of female scientists who shaped the field but often didn’t get the recognition they deserved. Meanwhile, Sky High Science takes learning to the skies, focusing on physics of flight through planes and projectiles. Both classes offer students a chance to see science from fresh and exciting perspectives.
Of course, science at Springs isn’t limited to the classroom. The Science Olympiad team is starting up for another big year. Last season, the team made it all the way to the state competition, finishing 6th overall with the school’s best result in over four years. This year, they’re aiming to go even further, and the team is still open to new members who want to join the journey just email Noah or Tuan to get started.
If competitions aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other clubs to check out. The Rocket Club is one of the more hands-on experiences you’ll find on campus. Members design, build, and launch rockets, testing their engineering skills and problem-solving abilities with every launch. Watching your creation launch into the sky is a reward in itself.
With new classes, competitive teams, and hands-on clubs, this year’s science scene has something for everyone. Whether you’re into history, physics, or rockets, there’s no better time to get involved.
